Yogamanjari Part I

Based on the scientific theories and treatment experiences, each book detailing about 51 selected yogas, its manufacturing methods, Kalpanas, Anupanas, adjunctive and similar formulations. Apart from this, mathras, condition of medicine intake, its benefits, dietary and lifestyle restrictions are also explained well. The book is compiled by Sri Arumanoor Parameswaran and Dr.K.V.Ramankutty and published by Unnimooss Foundation. Treatment experiences of 10 ayurvedic physician are also included it. It’s a good referral for ayurveda students and researchers.

Vaidyamanorama (Malayalam)

Vaidyamanorama, a Kerala based ancient ayurvedic texts were referred mainly by the Ashtavaidya families for treatments. It was first published by Vayaskara N.S.Mooss in the year 1944 with interpretation is written by famous scholar Cheppad Achutha Warrier. Details of treatments for Jwara to Vatashonita are mentioned in this book. Eventhough main focus of this text is on Kayachikitsa, treatments for Ura:kshataadi, krusha-sthoola chikitsa, Sthri Roga, Bala chikitsa, Manasika chikitsa are also detailed. Details of Kerala based yogas and its importance are also included in this text. It’s a very good referral for research scholars and ayurveda doctors. The text is re-published by Unni Mooss Foundation.


Phalashruthi (Malayalam)

It’s a useful guide for ayurvedic practitioners for the commonly used ayurvedic medicines available in market with its correct yoga. All the details like Roga condition, adjunctive etc are also mentioned in it.

The book is compiled by Dr. P T N Vasudevan Mooss, MD and Dr.Maneesh Mohan, MD.

SINDOORAMANJARI

This book is written by Thrissur Thaikat Narayanan Mooss in Malayalam which explains preparation (putapakavidhi and sevavidhi) of Ayaskanta sindooram, Abhra Sindooram, Vanga Sindooram, Loha Sindooram, Tamra Sindooram and Pancharatna Sindooram in detail. It also explains the Shudhdhi kramas of 19 drugs. This book was first published in the year 1915. “Apaddeepam” and “Margadeepam” poems written by which narrates the family history of Pazhanellippurath Thaikat Mooss is also included in this book.

Sub: Chikitsamanjari – Studies & Usages

Chikitsamanjari is said to be the second most Sresthagrantha after Ashtanga Hridaya used by the renowned Ayurveda physicians of Kerala for reference and practice. It has been used traditionally as a handbook for clinical practice since many decades. Written in Manipravala style, the book is believed to be composed between 16th and 18th centuries by an anonymous author. Chikitsamanjari can be considered as a true representative of the Kerala tradition of Ayurveda and plays an essential role in keeping the Kerala tradition of Ayurveda alive.

“Chakradatta” is one of the great treatise composed by Shri Chakrapanidatta, the well -known Tikakarta of Charak Samhita. Chakradatta holds an important place amongst academicians, researchers and students of Rasashastra. Many verses of Chakradatta are derived from 50 sources. Sarngadhar Samhita is a famous Ayurveda text written by Sharngdhar. It was composed in the 12th century with three sections. Shri Sharngdharacharya has collected the content of this book from the ancient scriptures (Charak and Sushruta Samhitas and some alchemical texts) and presented it in essence. There are at least three commentaries on this book by Hari Swami, Sayan and Kavindra available. Sharngdhar Samhita is an important Samhita of Laghutrayi .
